Terms of Service
Last updated: July 19, 2026
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of cip.cafe (“C.I.P.”, “we”, “us”), a web app for finding, rating, and privately logging coffee & tea cafés and sharing café finds with people you connect to. By using cip.cafe you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please don’t use the app.
Who can use cip.cafe
You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age required in your country) to use cip.cafe. You are responsible for keeping your account secure and for everything that happens under it. You sign in with Google; keep your Google account secure.
Your content
You keep ownership of the content you create — your ratings, comments, memory notes, tags, and photos (“your content”). To run the service, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to store, display, and share your content as you direct within the app — for example, showing a report and its photos to the connections you tag or share it with. This license lasts only as long as you keep the content in the app; delete it and the license ends, except for copies incidentally retained in backups for a limited time.
You promise that you have the right to share what you upload, and that your content doesn’t infringe anyone’s rights or break the law. Note that uploaded photos are served from a public web address, so don’t upload anything you need to keep strictly private.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Harass, threaten, or abuse other users — including through tags, shared notes, or the connections features.
- Upload content that is illegal, infringing, hateful, sexually explicit, or otherwise objectionable.
- Post fake, misleading, or spam café reports.
- Scrape, resell, or misuse café data, or try to bypass usage limits, security, or access controls.
- Interfere with or disrupt the service or the servers that run it.
We may remove content or suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
Other users and shared content
cip.cafe lets you connect with other people and share cafés, reports, and memories with them. Content you share becomes visible to the people you share it with, and they may keep their own record of it. We are not responsible for the conduct of other users or for what they do with content you choose to share.
Café information & third-party data
Café listings, ratings, review counts, hours, photos, and summaries come in part from Google’s Maps and Places services and are provided as-is. They may be inaccurate or out of date — always verify details like opening hours directly. Your use of Google-provided content is also subject to Google’s Terms of Service and Google’s Privacy Policy, and mapping data is “powered by Google.” Your in-app ratings are private to you and your connections and are never written back to Google or any public review site.
Ending your use
You can stop using cip.cafe at any time. You can delete individual reports, saved cafés, and connections in the app, and you can delete your entire account by emailing [email protected]. We may suspend or end your access if you violate these Terms or to protect the service or its users.
Disclaimers
cip.cafe is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. We don’t guarantee that café information is accurate, that the service will be uninterrupted, or that it will meet your expectations.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the cip.cafe team will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any loss arising from your use of the service, café recommendations, or content shared by other users.
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we’ll revise the “Last updated” date above, and significant changes may be highlighted in the app. Continuing to use cip.cafe after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules.
